Welcome!
I’m Melissa-Marie Shriner, a devoted singing teacher/voice coach, audiobook narrator/producer, and performer in both solo concerts and as an entertainer for the Retirement and Long-Term home care communities.
Over the past 20+ years, I have cultivated a fulfilling career using my voice that celebrates my never-ending curiosity to grow and learn, and spans teaching, performing, and narrating, always driven by my life motto: Seen, Heard, Understood. I want every individual—whether a student in my studio, a listener of my narrations, or an audience member I have the privilege to sing for —to feel these three powerful sentiments.

I have my Honors Bachelor of Music degree in Voice Performance, and a partial certificate in Speech and Language Sciences, both from Brock University, along with decades of private study in the field of voice and performance (I've had the great privilege to be taught by master voice teacher Carol Baggott-Forte, and have been to Italy several times for opera workshop intensives, and sung in an Italian opera house!), Level 1 and 2 Certificates in Somatic Voicework™ from the Lovetri Institute, along with private acting lessons and decades of performing experience, both as a soloist and concert producer and performer.
In my music studio, I believe it’s always the right time to start learning a new skill and opening up new doors for personal expression. I have a passion for helping adults in their midlife and senior years who have decided it’s finally time to start (or resume) their musical journey… If you’ve decided there is no more ‘waiting for the right time’… and you’ve decided to MAKE it the right time, my studio is for you! Let’s figure it out together! Each lesson is tailored to fit the unique needs of each person.
Performing in retirement and long-term care homes is a passion of mine! I love singing for the Senior Community! I bring my piano, pick from my versatile playlist of timeless tunes—the golden favorites from the 20s and 30’s, to jazz standards from the 40’s to the early rock n roll and folk music of the 50’s and 60s, some musical theatre, folk songs, jazz, opera, you name it—and off I go. It’s not just about singing songs; it’s about creating moments that light up the room, making everyone’s day a little brighter, and renewing musical memories.
